Exploring Shibdon Pond - World Migratory Bird Day @ Shibdon Pond | England | United Kingdom

Sunday 14th May is ‘World Migratory Bird Day’ and what better way to spend it than exploring the birds of Shibdon Pond.
Shibdon Pond is one of the few large open water bodies left in the southern part of Tyne and Wear, large numbers of wetland birds are recorded here including lap wing, golden plover, redshank, snipe, teal as well as water rail, sand piper and kingfisher.
Our Trustee and local Birdwatcher Peter Bell will be on hand to guide you through the birds that can be seen and also talk about the Trust’s work at Shibdon Meadow and other Gateshead sites.
