The Trust understands that the recent news and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 situation may have caused our members and visitors some concern.
We would like to take this opportunity to offer an overview of the current status of our reserves and visitor centres and the steps we are taking in response to Coronavirus.
We are following government guidelines and as such, at present our visitor centres, nature reserves and the coffee shops remain open as usual and in line with the details listed on our website. Any update to this situation will be posted on our website, so if you are planning to visit please check here first.
Subject to sufficient volume of attendees, many of our events will continue as normal. In some instances, we are choosing to delay an event and where this is happening we will update the website and booked attendees accordingly. Events that require participants to be transported by minibus or be in locations without handwashing facilities for an extended period will be cancelled.
If you have booked tickets and decide you no longer wish to attend, you can contact us to cancel and will receive a full refund. Should we need to delay events, we will contact attendees with revised dates and if you are unable to attend we will offer a full refund.
We have made some changes to the ways in which our ongoing conservation work is carried out, which means that there will be a reduction in volunteer task days for the time being. This decision was not taken lightly but will ensure that we are reducing any risk to our staff and volunteers.
Please be assured that we are monitoring the situation closely and will take any necessary actions as advised by the central government. As ever, we appreciate your continued support, without which we could not continue our vital work in protecting and conserving wildlife from Tees to Tyne.
