Ideal for the absolute beginner or for those who just want a bit of a refresher, this short but intensive and fun course will help you get to grips with the basics of bird watching on a nature reserve and beyond.
Covering everything you need to get started with bird watching, from using binoculars, to bird ecology and how to identify the birds you see, this course is an absolute must for the ‘less experienced’ bird watcher.
The course will include both indoor and outdoor sessions and so please dress accordingly for the weather and with sturdy footwear. Binoculars will be available for those who don’t have their own.
Places are limited and so pre-booking is essential either online or by calling 0191 584 3112. Tea and Coffee will be provided, please bring your own packed lunch or pre-order with The Meadows Coffee Shop on arrival.
“I wish I had had this as my very first bird watching course. It has helped me start at the beginning when I see a bird, and work through various questions to establish what sort of bird it might be, instead of jumping in focusing on one feature of the bird and hoping to identify it from that. I would recommend every absolute beginner, as I was, to do this course first if at all possible.“
