19th November – Happy Hibernators
Now that it’s getting colder, we will be finding out why and how hibernation helps some animals to survive the winter months, and we’ll learn some useful woodland survival skills and den building techniques too!
Monthly activities throughout the year to engage curious young minds and equip future nature scientists with the tools they need to enjoy, investigate and protect our world. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month from 9.30am – 11.30am, £4 per child. Activities are aimed at ages 5- 10 years, children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Booking is essential.
The sessions are delivered in line with the John Muir Award; throughout the year there will be opportunities to achieve the four elements of the award: discover, explore, conserve and share. Durham Wildlife Trust can administer your award for you for an additional £3/child.
