Identifying Mosses and Liverworts Walk- DWT Botany @ Stanhope | England | United Kingdom

Join Durham WT Botany Group to the former lead mine, Ashes Quarry, which is rich in mosses and liverworts (Bryophytes) and other wildlife.

Mosses and liverworts are a beautiful site at this time of the year in their greenery. Take it a chance to brush up on, and develop, your identification skills and see more species. If you are a complete beginner to identifying mosses and liverworts, come along to see how amazing they can be.

The meeting time and place will be 10:30 at Durham Dales Centre, Castle Gardens, Stanhope, DL13 2FJ

The walk is typical of the area , a bit rough underfoot here and there and damp in places. Study footwear and warm clothes is essential and it is quite cold at the bottom to the quarry.
