Come and join us for our Wildathon! and learn new skills to help ensure we can create a wilder future. We believe that we can all play our part in putting nature into recovery and would like to get as many people as possible doing their bit for local wildlife.
Take part in three workshops throughout your session (either 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm), the workshops are tailored to be suitable for adults and children but there will be additional younger children’s ‘breakout’ activities throughout the day (no boredom permitted!).
Your Wilder Future workshops are:
- Hedgehog Highways – Learn how to develop your garden to be welcoming for hedgehogs.
- Wild About Gardens – Get to grips with the basics of wildlife ponds, planting for pollinators and create your own bug abode.
- Food for Birds – Help us build a bird feeding platform and create some bird feeders to take home and use in your own garden to encourage wild birds. We’ll also talk you through what to feed and when.
Children’s drop-in activities will run throughout the day:
- Pond Dipping
- Wild storytelling
- Wildlife Trail
All participants (Adults & Children) must book a place and will also get a Wilder Future goody bag with gifts themed on the workshops from the day. Children must be accompanied by an Adult at all times.
Workshops may be subject to change but will be interactive and provide you with advice and the skills to put a wilder future into practice at home or in your local community.
