Experimental Bird Box Exhibition

Third year students from Newcastle University School of Architecture have been investigating requirements different birds have for creating successful nests.  Having conducted their research at Rainton Meadows last November, the students explored the use of different materials to design experimental bird boxes for the future.

The bird boxes will be on display at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve until 20th February. A booklet within the centre shows the students inspiration for each design and some have even been installed around the Nature Reserve.
