Volunteer Reserves Officer

Durham Wildlife Trust is an independent nature conservation charity and part of the federation of 47 organisations that together form the Wildlife Trusts. Durham Wildlife Trust is a membership organisation operating across County Durham, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland and Darlington. We engage our members, supporters, partners and wider society in the conservation effort by managing nature reserves and visitor facilities and delivering a range of nature conservation projects and initiatives.

Volunteer Reserves Officer 

Durham Wildlife Trust is seeking a volunteer reserves officer to assist the Reserves Team in implementing all practical reserves management on Durham Wildlife Trust nature reserves.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with good communication skills, dedicated to nature conservation and working with people. Applicants must hold a full clean driving licence, have good communication and people skills and a willingness to learn.

Full training is provided (including access to external courses) and travel expenses. Applicants will gain practical experience in conservation skills co-ordinating and leading tasks. Qualifications provided include:

Chainsaw CS30/31

Pesticides PA1&6

First Aid

Off Road (4×4)


Safe use of brushcutters and other machinery
