Join us for our Members Day at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve!
Saturday 1st September 2018
There will be wildlife themed fun and activities for all ages throughout the day.
11.00am – Wildlife Watch! Junior Pond Dipping & Wild Sculptures
Uncover the secrets of the pond, search for the elusive water scorpion and create some pond-life inspired sculptures to leave on the Reserve. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
12.45pm –Rainton Meadows ‘Past, Present & Future’ Guided Walk
Perfect for first time visitors, or those who’d like to learn more about Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve. This guided walk will last approximately one hour and will consist of a circuit walk of the reserve.
1.30pm – Dragon Hunting & Pond Life Active Talk
Got an eye for adventure? Or not, its less dangerous than it sounds. Our Dragonfly expert will take you on a guided walk of Rainton Meadows on the hunt for our long-bodied, flying friends. You’ll hear about pond management on site and get a chance to retrieve your own finds from the pond, allowing you to see first hand some of the species our wetland sites support.
1.30pm – Wild Yoga
Connect the mind, body & soul with the earth and with nature in our outdoor nature reserve yoga class. All abilities welcome, the class will be a ‘taster session’ and will last approximately one hour.
11.00am – 3.00pm – Coppicing for Conservation & An Introduction to Practical Volunteering
11.00am – 3.00pm – Wildlife Crafts and DIY Bird Feeders to take home
1.00pm – 2.00pm – Guide in the Hide
Members Day Activities are Free for Durham Wildlife Trust Members
DWT Members may also wish to bring a guest, if your guest decides to join on the day, both you and your guest will receive a free gift.

Durham Wildlife Trust Annual General Meeting
The Durham Wildlife Trust AGM will also take place on Saturday 1st September, 11am in the Rainton Meadows Visitor Centre. Refreshments will be available from 10.30am.

The AGM will be followed by the Durham Wildlife Trust Conservation Awards, celebrating the difference made to wildlife buy individuals, schools and business in the last year.
AGM will take place in the Visitor Centre Conference Room, upstairs on the 1st floor of the building. A stair lift is available but please contact the Trust in advance should you have any concerns.
