Wildlife In Durham
Discover wildlife and nature conservation from the Tees to the Tyne. This talk highlights the special places and species that are cared for by Durham Wildlife Trust as well as the projects and activities the Trust is currently undertaking.

Discover Brightwater
Discover Brightwater Project Manager Paul Black will reveal, restore and celebrate life around the River Skerne in his talk about the Discover Brightwater Landscape Partnership and how we all won the National Lottery.

Link Together - How restoring nature makes you feel good!
Project Manager Anne Gladwin will share the Link Together Project which is connecting people and wildlife in the 'Coalfields' area of Sunderland.

A History of Joe's Pond & Rainton Meadows
Joe's Pond and Rainton Meadows nature reserves form part of a rich history of coal mining (both deep and open cast) in the Houghton area. This talk digs in to the industrial and human history of the reserves, details the restoration for nature and introduces plans for the future of the reserve.

Nextdoor Nature
Nextdoor Nature - How communities connect with wildlife in their own personal way in their hyperlocal space.
For communities in South Tyneside, Sunderland, East Durham and Darlington. Available until July 24, suitable for all groups. Delivered in English.
Naturally Native
Naturally Native - Saving water voles, Britain’s fastest declining species. The Naturally Native project is a joint initiative with Durham, Northumberland and Tees Valley Wildlife Trusts, hear from our project team about the work happening across the region to prevent the extinction of water voles.

Stronger Shores
Our coasts have always been our first line of defence, but as climate change takes hold, that defence is slowly crumbling. Engagement Officer Blair Watson will discuss how a new innovative project is bolstering these defences through the power of nature; with kelp, seagrass and oysters helping us to create ‘Stronger Shores’.

All groups who would like to arrange a speaker are encouraged to get in touch. Talks can be online or in person. There is a suggested donation of £50 to Durham Wildlife Trust for talks. If your group is part of a charity unable to donate to other charities, this can be invoiced as a speaker fee. If your group is unable to make a donation please contact us. Additional travel expenses may be requested if the talk is to take place outside of the Durham Wildlife Trust patch.
