Autumn Trees - Home Education Outdoors @ Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve | England | United Kingdom

Come to explore, discover and conserve at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve.  Monthly activities throughout the year to engage curious young minds and equip future nature scientists with the tools they need to enjoy, investigate and protect our world. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month from 10am – 12pm.  £4/ child. Activities are aimed at ages 5- 11 years, children must be accompanied by an adult

This week enjoy the changing of the season and investigate why leaves change colour and drop from the trees.  Use our leaf microscopes to inspire some woodland artwork and have a go at measuring the height and age of our trees.
Why not bring a packed lunch or eat at The Meadows Café and enjoy the Wild Play Area afterwards.
The sessions are delivered in line with the John Muir Award; throughout the year there will be opportunities to achieve the four elements of the award: discover, explore, conserve and share. Durham Wildlife Trust can administer your award for you for an additional £3/child.
Thank you to Guy Edwardes/2020VISION for the photo.
