About the event

We will start at The Dunes Cafe and head down to the beach.

Winter sees many seabirds come closer to our shores to escape the worst of the weather so we will keep an eye out for divers, skuas, sea ducks like scoter and of course the gulls - both on the wing and on the waters surface.

The beauty of sea-watching is that you never know what might be passing as we look and with migration time approaching anything could happen!

We will then cut inland and walk through the scrub that leads towards the dene. Here, we would expect to see a range of alternative birds seeking shelter in the bushes. We will look and listen for smaller birds including some that we might expect to see in farmland settings… why would we find these birds at the coast?...

We will also keep a constant look out for raptors such as buzzards, kestrels and… well who knows what else!

Please ensure you are dressed appropriately for the weather on the day as much of the session will be on the exposed beach.
