About the event
Join our expert team for a guided walk of Cuthbert's Moor Nature Reserve to learn more about this unique ecosystem - a former grouse moor - and what we can do to preserve and protect our uplands.
All that and enjoy a breath-taking walk in some stunning scenery. Pack your binoculars and a hot drink and join us for what promises to be an exhilarating day out!
We will be walking our Cuthbert's Moor Nature Reserve with Southern Reserves Officer, Tim Davis, as he points out important features of this former Grouse Moor. The reserve is not generally open to the public so this is a great opportunity to see the work being undertaken to restore and preserve this globally rare ecosystem, as well as hopefully see some of its inhabitants.
We will meet at the lay-by (details below) at 10am. Please bring warm clothing, waterproofs, binoculars if you have them, any ID books you may find useful, and wellies or sturdy waterproof boots.
There are no footpaths as such on the reserve, but your guide will be able to steer us around firmer ground.
If you have any concerns surrounding accessibility, please email Tim Davis at tdavis@durhamwt.co.uk. There are no toilet facilities on-site.
