Shoresearch: Redcar Beach
Event details
About the event
Over the two hours you will be assisting in the recording of various species found along our coastline. There will be a professional on hand to assist in the identification, and so beginners are most welcome. You will need sturdy footwear that you don’t mind getting wet, and ideally, as it may be quite warm, a bottle of water. Lunch will not be provided, so please eat before or after the activity. The engagement officer will be waiting at the meeting point, should you not be able to find them, they can be contacted on: 07561855932.
Parking can be found a 5 minute walk from the meeting point at the Redcar and Cleveland House Car Park (///banks.scale.trade) – please note there will be a charge for the car park, however there will be a form that you can complete at the end of the activity for re-imbursement of this charge.
This event is for ages 16+, however, under 18’s MUST be supervised by an adult. As it requires climbing over coastal rocks, this activity is not suitable for those with medical issues that may be exacerbated should they slip or fall.
Toilets are available a short walk away, as is a small café. Please wear suitable footwear with good grip, that you don’t mind potentially getting wet. Please also consider dressing appropriately for the weather, including sunscreen should it be a hot day, as you will be in an exposed location.
