Durham Wildlife Trust Great North Run 2025 Place
About the event
By running the Great North Run you are supporting nature conservation from the Tees to the Tyne. Your fundraising will help us to continue our great work in our local area, enabling us to look after special spaces for nature and protect key species now and in the future, as well as helping to fund our education work, ensuring the next generation can care for their natural world.
What you need to do:
- Pay towards our admin costs, we ask for £50 to secure your place. This is non-refundable and non transferable*
- Raise at least £250 in fundraising, we recommend a target of £300+
- Send us a picture of yourself and a bio that we can use on our social media and website (this will encourage donations from our wider support network to help you reach your target)
What Durham Wildlife Trust will do:
- Send you our digital fundraising pack and sponsorship form as well as instructions on how make the most of the Great Run Enthuse platform for your fundraising
- Provide lots of support to help you fundraise, including sharing your fundraising page on our social media channels and website - this often leads to donations from strangers
- Get you kitted out with a Team Wilder vest
- Give you free entry to our annual Run Rainton fun run, to help with your training
Please note, our admin fee covers Trust staff time in managing our Great North Run places, social posting and ordering running tops, it does not cover the cost of the charity place to Great Run, which is actually far higher due to the small number that the Trust takes each year. You must be prepared to fundraise and make an effort to fundraise in order to take a charity place from Durham Wildlife Trust. Our team will make sure you receive lots of support in this.
Durham Wildlife Trust only enters 10 runners in the Great North Run, please only take one of our places if you agree to raise at least £250 for our wonderful cause.
*In the event of run postponement charity places are transferred to the following years event, in this case the place you have secured with your admin fee is also transferred and no further payment required. If the date of the run is changed to a date you can no longer attend, this fee can either be refunded to you, or donated to the Trust. Should you choose to defer your Great North Run place to 2026, you can contact the Trust to arrange this within the timeframe specified by Great Run, as with all other Great Run deferrals, you are guaranteed a place in the following year's run and in 2025 your deferred run token will be issued to you by the Trust at which point Great Run will require direct payment of the run entry fee, in this case the Trust retains the £50 admin fee paid in 2025 with no further payment to the Trust. You will still be a charity runner in 2026 and will receive the above as normal.
