Leisure company to support wildlife trust’s conservation work

Durham Wildlife Trust (DWT) has launched a fundraising initiative with Verdant Leisure group to support work on its nature reserves.

Every time someone books a holiday at Heather View Leisure Park, they are asked if they would like to make a £1 donation to DWT.

Verdant Leisure have parks across Scotland and Northern England, including two in County Durham. The initiative is part of its ongoing support for DWT, Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Northumberland Wildlife Trust.

Abbie Osguthorpe, Communications Assistant at DWT said: “We deeply appreciate the support from Verdant Leisure, which helps our important work to protect and enhance some of our area’s most important wildlife sites.”

Stacey Gibson, Marketing Manager from Verdant Leisure said: We are delighted to support the Durham Wildlife Trust. Our parks are set in the heart of the region’s stunning countryside so we often receive visits from wildlife enthusiasts and the wildlife itself! It is great that we can contribute to protecting the wildlife for future generations”.
