Membership Subscription Increase

As a small charity we rely on the support of our members. Membership enables us to manage our nature reserves, run conservation projects, deliver environmental education activities and provide thousands of volunteering opportunities each year.

From 1st August 2019 the minimum donation amount for Membership will increase by 50p per month across all categories of Membership, although many members choose to give more. This means that the minimum amount someone can donate in order to be a member will be:

Individual – £30 per year or £2.50 per month.
Joint – £36 per year or £3 per month.
Family – £42 per year or £3.50 per month.

The increase will come into effect for all new Memberships to Durham Wildlife Trust from 1st August 2019. It will not affect current members paying the current minimum rates.

Thanks to the support of Members, Durham Wildlife Trust has more than doubled the land it manages for wildlife in the last 15 years. In that time the Trust has also delivered countless projects benefiting both wildlife and people, protecting vital species and engaging thousands of adults and children with the natural world.

Minimum subscriptions were last increased 5 years ago, in 2014. Since that time the Trust has seen increases in many of its operating costs, things like inflation, insurance and advancing technology have all played their part and there is a need to increase Trust income from Membership and Donations in order to safeguard and to grow our work for wildlife.

If you’re already a member of Durham Wildlife Trust and would like to increase your generous donation, please contact Emily on 0191 584 3112 or email membership@durhamwt.co.uk.
