One of the few remnants of species rich magnesian limestone grasslands.
Kelloe field is a small magnesian limestone grassland on a south facing slope with typical wildflowers including lady’s bedstraw, fairy flax, restharrow, salad burnet as well as quaking and crested hair grass grass. There is also an area of limestone fen in the low lying areas to the south which is dominated by rushes and sedges with meadowsweet and figwort.
