The Wild Play area at Rainton Meadows has reopened after a substantial refit. The work was possible thanks to the support given to our fundraising campaign, along with grants from partners: Sunderland City Council, Integrated Care Board Sunderland, and National Lottery - Community Fund.
Jim Cokill, Director of Durham Wildlife Trust, said: “The park is a popular destination for many local families, and is a great addition to school and community group visits. We are delighted to have been able to reopen it, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the ‘Bringing Back Wild Play’ campaign.”
