Durham Wildlife Trust is delighted to be working with the North East Community Forest partnership in 2022/23; supporting delivery of their 30-year vision to increase tree coverage across the forest area.
Community Forests are located in and around some of the nation’s largest towns and cities. The North East Community Forest will see tens of thousands of trees planted across Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland and parts of Durham. Increased tree coverage will improve our natural heritage and create happier and healthier places for us all to live, work in and visit.
In partnership with our colleagues at Northumberland Wildlife Trust we are facilitating community planting events at selected sites across the forest area. This provides you with the opportunity to volunteer and support this amazing initiative. So grab your wellies and sign up to one of our events to get involved.
