We are welcoming visitors across the Durham Wildlife Trust area with many people now enjoying visits to our natures reserves. All sites are accessible to the public on foot, with barrier access for vehicles now possible from 9.30am – 4.30pm each day at our Rainton Meadows and Low Barns nature reserves.
The coffee shop at Rainton Meadows is now operating a daily takeaway service – updates are posted on their facebook page: facebook.com/meadowscoffeeshop
The Low Barns coffee shop is open for takeaways from Friday to Sunday each week, with updates posted on their facebook page: facebook.com/lowbarnscoffeeshop
The bird hide at Rainton Meadows is open to those who have a key and we have requested that it is used by only one person at a time.
The bird hides at Low Barns nature reserve and Derwent Reservoir remain closed.
Our capacity to open up our sites and welcome visitors to enjoy the wildlife is thanks to our generous supporters. If you are not already a member, please consider joining and helping us to continue our vital work: www.durhamwt.com/join
