Bird Ringing - Home Education Outdoors @ Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve | England | United Kingdom
Come to explore, discover and conserve at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve. Monthly activities throughout the year to engage curious young minds and equip future nature scientists with the tools they need to enjoy, investigate and protect our world. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month from 10am – 12pm. £4/ child. Activities are aimed at ages 5- 11 years, children must be accompanied by an adult.
This week meet our onsite bird ringer and discover why this is such an important job and how to identify different birds using our eyes, ears and knowledge of their habitats. Take part in a feather forage to investigate the different types of feathers birds have
Why not bring a packed lunch or eat at The Meadows Café and enjoy the Wild Play Area afterwards.
The sessions are delivered in line with the John Muir Award; throughout the year there will be opportunities to achieve the four elements of the award: discover, explore, conserve and share. Durham Wildlife Trust can administer your award for you for an additional £3/child.
