Run for Wildlife!
Saturday 18th August will see our first 5k Run Rainton Fun Run and Joe’s Pond Toddle take place at Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve.
Beginning at 10am, our 5k Trail Fun Run will take you over a challenging circuit of Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, including Nicholson’s Hill. Run Rainton isn’t timed and there is no limit to how long you can take to complete the course, so is suitable for all level of runner, plodder and walker.
Advanced entry for the run is available for £8, places must be booked in advance, runners will not be able to join on the day.
The course is approximately 5k in distance, participants must be prepared for trail conditions and be able to manage the Stiles on the course. If you’re not sure, do get in touch before booking your place.
Ages 6-99 are welcome, under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult and must be within arms reach for the duration of the run. Anyone wishing to run with a dog can do so but dogs must be on leads and under control at all times and any poop must be scooped. Runners with dogs may also be asked to start from the back.
Your entry fee to Run Rainton goes directly to Durham Wildlife Trust, the charity who manage Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve as well as 36 other Nature Reserves from the Tees up to the Tyne. There will also be stalls including tombola, cakes and face-painting fundraising for the Trust on the day.
No refunds will be offered but runners are able to change the name on their booking up until Sunday 12th August when advanced entries will close.
