Wild runners raise £770 for wildlife

Run Rainton returned this year, with the nature-themed fun run raising vital funds for wildlife conservation in the region. Read our round-up from the event below.

Around 40 people donned their trainers and took to the paths and tracks of Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve in August, to complete a fun 5K trail run and raise vital funds for the Trust.

The weather was bright and the reserve was looking spectacular as our band of dedicated runners took on a challenging circuit of the reserve, which included a steep climb up Nicholson's Hill and some off-road trail sections.

After completing the circuit, our runners were greeted with a cake sale and tombola, all made of up items kindly donated to help us collect as much money as possible.

The event raised a whopping £770. We would like to thank all those who took part and our wonderful group of volunteers, without whom the event would not be such a great success.
